• Probiotics - Probiotics are “good bacteria," living microorganisms projecting health benefits for their host—namely, digestive systems. They're quantified by the number of colony forming units (CFUs), a term that describes the probiotic's ability to reproduce. The higher the CFU, the better the effect of the probiotic on the body.

• Prebiotics - Prebiotics are essentially the food source for probiotics. They are long-chain sugars that encourage the growth of good bacteria in the gut. It's important to have a high-level CFU probiotic that accompanies prebiotics.

• Digestive Enzymes - Enzymes work to break down nutrients. Some molecules are harder to break down for dogs & cats (for instance, the cellulose found in plant-based foods).
